Lita Rossana Ford She was a British-born American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. In the late 70s she played as the lead guitar for the hard-rocking all-girl group The Runaways. It wasn't possible for the band to be a major hit in America but they gained a lot of attention in other countries and in particular Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. She began to take voice lessons and then released her first album "Out For Blood" and then "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford was absent from the scene for several years after her albums didn't become popular. The smash hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in the year 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both quickly became huge hit. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for several years. Her re-emergence was with the release of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years after. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
